DIMENSION OF STEVE

ONE OF MY FAVORITE
SONGS!

Once there were green fields kissed by the sun
Once there were valleys where rivers used to run
Once there were blue skies with white clouds high above
Once they were part of an everlasting love
We were the lovers who strolled through green fields

Green fields are gone now, parched by the sun
Gone from the valleys where rivers used to run
Gone with the cold wind that swept into my heart
Gone with the lovers who let their dreams depart
Where are the green fields that we used to roam

I'll never know what made you run away
How can I keep searching when dark clouds hide the day
I only know there's nothing here for me
Nothing in this wide world, left for me to see

Still I'll keep on waiting until you return
I'll keep on waiting until the day you learn
You can't be happy while your heart's on the roam
You can't be happy until you bring it home
Home to the green fields and me once again

#1 again? Hmmmm. Maybe I am up very late? And you are up very early? It's FUN being number ONE!

Julius Caesar once said, "I'd rather be 'First man' in a small Iberian village...than 'Second man in Rome!"

    MAGPIE:
YUP! You got it, Babe--grin! Thanks for listening. PEACE!

    KRISTIN:
I believe song originates from the deepest heart-mind, Whence Greatest Love first created.

    BRIAN:
Yup, maybe happiness is a place--not a state of mind?

    Jessie:
Welll...I like it, too. Thank you for 'going way back there' with me. PEACE!

As one who writes, you well know how appreciated are those few who follow, and comment. Otherwise, why not write in a log book and keep on a shelf at home? Thank you.

    SCOTTF:
Yes, sad maybe, but ya know, the mission of music and all arts is to evoke certain emotions--ALL the emotions, and bring them to a level a bit higher than those of a dandelion. --grin!!-
    PEACE (Hope you are laughing!)

  8. Beautiful song and sad. When a lover lets the dream the part, that lover is not coming back.
Steve, thank you for your comment. I'm honored that you'd want to use a quote from my post.
    Thank you

  10. Now, this video post made my tears fall. It was one of the songs my husband sang so beautifully.

I love the words and the melody, of course, the poem could have a happier ending.

Steve, I also scrolled down to read some of your previous posts. So heartwarming to know AA is 76 years old.

Loved the story of the returnee... who was given a paint job after being homeless for 8 years.

Your blog is a true to life story written in prose and poetry. It can be refined and turned into a book. The story of your life. You have much to share, Steve.

Certainly, it is privilege for me to have "met" you on blog world.

For me, blog friendships are so precious.

    Blessings to you, friend.
