PERSPECTIVES

Welcome to dVerse Poets Pub WEEK #106
Begins Tues @ 3 PM Eastern,

ends Wednesday Night...JOIN us!

P E R S P E C T I V E S

A LOT of thought
I've given to this topic
the past few minutes...

Dog named Lucky
insisted last night
on shooting the moon.

So I handed him my S-4,
heard the SLAM of a shutter
shouted an invective
at Lucky's perspective

There! I see what he sees:
a cat, a fiddle,
a jumping bovine,
dashing spoon
and blushing dish

all dancing on
robot's yellow nuts.

Lucky? So sweet:
extinguished a fire
at robot's feet

MY PERSPECTIVE
(just to even the score!)

    1. When he "plays" with the cat, he puts cat's head--complete with whiskers--in his big mouth. And calls that FUN!

  2. We can only GUESS what one can see from "a dog's eye view!" But then again maybe we don't want to know.

    1. Well, ya got me to look up Eddie Lear! Interesting guy. Thanks!

I DO know Josquin Desprez, Guilliaume Dufay and Johannes Ockeghem,
      however--and always I've been a name-dropper--grin!

I will read more about Edward Lear, and learn "my kind of communication", based on your chance remark.
      Thank you.

  13. Very clever word-play in this, Steve. I especially enjoyed the literal interpretation of 'shoot the moon.' It's always fun to deconstruct metaphors like this.

  15. Perspective?

The dog demands no wild guess.

    You will never know.

    Unless you are a dog.

  16. I like Lucky's perspective.
You are the third poem I read about perspective, I love synchronicities. I love this from Campoamor:
    In this treacherous world
    nothing is either truth or lie;
    everything depends on the color
of the crystal that one looks through.

Our perspective defines us.. We see what we want to see..

    What looks clouds to me
a divine figure is what my dad sees :)

    1. It is wonderful you revere your dad. He had that gift to "see" things BETTER than you or I. Some peole ate that way--my father also, blind and deaf, yet always "seeing" things...different than others could "see". Thans for comment.
