IS DESTINY?

Please Check out dVerse Poets Pub

Atlantic Ocean Beach St Augustine, FL
"DO NOT WALK ON THE GRASS"--grin!

MAKE IT HAPPEN, MAN!

Fear is near
havoc amok
destiny hovers

stone-hearts
useless warts
destiny loses

seen as majestic
mountains of travesty
destiny alive?

Life foiling like
roiling clouds
destiny sucks

mountains sink into the sea
on top of one is Thee
Oh destiny, benevolent.

music of muses
playing four strings
are we just puppets
sweet, simple things?
with destiny

Whatever else offered in life,
God...can You not remove
our destinies—or improve
how they shape?

"My son...
destiny does not shape your fate
destiny IS that fate!

Only one can destine
change.

One only to rearrange
fate.

That one...

Shhhh! you!"

  4. Shhhh, You also hold the secret to every mystery to ever trouble your mind...if only we would allow ourselves to remember. Sometimes the best advice is the simplest. Great share for OpenLinkNight!

  5. Every single step and a change is made, whether we stub our toe or move away. Really making me think, that can't be good..haha...truly wonderful verse!

  6. You nailed it, Steve. And herein lies that "free will" they taught us about.

  7. And I believe you... we are the shapers of our destiny.

So true its us only, who can change that fate, despite or- better- thank the sack we carry on our shoulders...

Nice to visit my dear friend-peep again

  9. Yeah.
    I don't believe in a passive destiny.
I believe in a free will and in "Thy will be done".

  11. Destiny and fate are vague ideas of ideals loaded full of possibilities.

    Interesting read.

    Oh destiny, benevolent.

  13. You enjoyed yourself! Good I'm glad.
Fate-Benevolent ? if WE are( in action) I suppose...We gnaw away at the edges as we go. Feels: destiny is kinder than fate.
    I guess I don't like the word.
    I don't trust 'long term' outcomes;
trends are better.Still we do arrive
    eventually at death,that's a fact!

  21. So lovely the message you send in this beautiful poem, Steve. I often question why destiny seems, sometimes, so unkind. But I see that it is not unkind at all, at the end of the day. Destiny is what we make of life for ourselves... and yes, if we wish for it to change, only we can make that happen. We are so empowered in so many ways... And isn't that the most beautiful of life's gifts?

Thank you for this lovely string of words, Steve!
