PLANT A TREE?-- A POEM

California Redwoods

PLANT SEED AND JUMP BACK

find spot on earth
which has no trees
sprinkle flakes of love
plant sprouts or seeds
(sprouts are simpler)

one-and-half-century will
grow really nice Redwood
then sit, relax, and
wait few thousand years
(heheheh!)

oh! set your chair far back until
in good time, diameter of tree will
build out twenty-three feet or more...
carefully plant yourself....
so butt won't get sore

take a long nap
awaken to new world
where trees create sap
from below and above
when all universe is
sprinkling flakes of love

  1. smiles...there's something magical in planting trees - and i just love what can grow out of a tiny little seed - it needs time to grow though... patience is not my strongest trait but some things are def. worth the wait... smiles

  3. I agree about the trees and planting them. Hate to see them cut down. They are so important in the ecosystem.

  4. smiles....nice....love me some trees...and we need to plant more for as many as we knock down to put up new houses while old ones sit dormant...our consumption of the earths resources will def catch up with us one day unless we start doing more like this...that is for sure....
