COMING OUT FROM ISOLATION

Castillo de-San Jjuan-Priorio Asturias
Near Oviedo, north coast of Spain
(Rebuilt as private residence)

A POEM

Sir Castle, you hide
one side of
your face
with lace
of Ivy

Mighty Fort, is it blame

or shame
we're not
allowed
to see?

Brick and mortar-mud

you stand so
proud, tall,
and I below
so small...

But as yourself, O great House

I also kept hid within
--transgressions?
(Some call it sin.)
All mine

MY "lace of ivy"

wall covering
is smiley face
of ivory, a mask of
which none dare ask
"Are you OK?"

For years, Sir Castle,

my "house" been under
restoration, renovation:

rain, lightning, thunder...
CHAOS!

Finally, the sun!

Let Light shine

Let PEACE reign
These days are the very best.
"Take what you need,
and give back the rest."

  1. smiles...renovation of the heart is where it starts and allows us to drop the mask and just be...what a wonderful life that is as well when we do...it takes time though...and care...and intentionality...love that last quote too...its how we exist together...

I "love" that word of yours...intentionality

  2. Renovation?

    Parts changed?

    Rejuvenation.

    Eyes of a boy.

    And mind.

    1. Correct "Rain"! Age 80, and deciding what to be when I grow up...
      Maybe a Castle?

Thanks for your kind words, Ann Frank.

  8. Hey Steve you show a great deal of strength here in your words...as a person coming off of Ativan for 5 years I can definitely relate to the need for love in support...I don't think I would have ever been able to do it, if I couldn't find anyone to support me in my differences that could not be met anywhere else but the path that fiercely and sometimes beautifully and gently took me there...I am very honored that you link my blog here on your site...I can be a little scary to people at times haha...but it is all for love...Love ya friend and wish you the best in all your goals...I've got a hundred more blogs now to link on my blog but I am inspired more to write now than ever as driven toward love as ever before...amazing how just one of support can actually give life to another human being again...the value of that is priceless beyond any dimension of science!

    1. Thanks, Fred. I'm lucky to read half of my linked blogs. I read and respond slowly.

NOTE: Best help for you in drug recovery is someone who's "been there, done that". And ain't "doing it" no more! If you really want to stop.
      PEACE to you, Sir

  11. Some things "only YOU know", Almas.
My opinion? Your honesty has removed most of the "ivy"...
