UP, UP...and AWAY-AYYY
Lift us up you
beautiful balloons, to
asteroids, planets, moons
to happy place
in space.
Up, up, and awayyy
baby, maybe
to stayyy?
In our balloon-mobile
together we'd steal
far from the "mirth"
of earth,
laughing instead
with the stars.
Silently, we sped
on our journey
past planets and rings,
black holes and things.
Days and months
turned into ageless years.
Of never finding way back
became our primary fears
He: Already you "Pop" yearn to return?
She: How do we "Pop" go back?
Simply "Pop" one balloon,
then "Pop" another...see, we're
passing Jupiter "Pop" and Mars.
Did "Pop" you enjoy the ride?
Kiss, kiss, kiss--that means "yes"!
Before we land: POPOPOPOPOPOP...
Honey, straighten out your dress
As we lay there
on the earth-hill,
grass grew beneath...
we did declare
our love.
So sweet.
Never again did we meet!
steveroni :-)
I love, love, this Steve. I want a ride, but I do not understand declare our love, never again to meet?
ReplyDeleteWell, Lisa, maybe they never met again is my guess...I changed last lines just a bit. Thank you so much. You helped me make it "nicer"...though nothing "nice" about it, right?
DeleteI'd like to find the 'mirth of earth'?!
ReplyDeleteTrell, "mirth" was supposed to be in quotes (as if) and now it IS. Thanks!
Deleteha. a fanciful ride my friend...a bit sad in the end to decide never to meet again though...might help you live long with adventures such as these...ha. months and years...dont pop them too fast cause landing can surely sting...smiles.
ReplyDeleteHA! Working title was "Lift Off--Land Soft"
DeleteWhat a beautiful story.
ReplyDeleteThank you, John. I believe you just like everything. What a way to live, to see SOME good everwhere!
DeleteYes, one pop at a time...
ReplyDeleteYup. Laurie...everything happens one-at-a-time, I guess. Days, hours, minutes, all contrived to keep us sane--if that were possible!!!--grin!
DeletePop .. pop .. pop! How clever of you Steve.
ReplyDeleteNot so "clever" for a professional "balloon-popper": :-)
Deleteheeheehee
first - i love that pic - when i saw it first i just stared at it for quite a while and thought how wonderful it would be to travel like this a bit - and even better to make that journey with someone you can laugh with and have fun on the way - a bit sad that everything was over after the landing though...you know - i'm all for happy endings...smiles
ReplyDeleteMaybe endings sad for one, be so joyful for another?
DeleteIn whch case, ending happily for all...
:-)
Hi Steve,
ReplyDeleteUp up and away in my beautiful balloon..I don't know why I have the urge to sing that song..we declared our love never again to meet..the ending had a twist but, you know life is like that at times.
Peace & Light my friend..always try to stay light in spirit then you can fly on the strings of balloons.
Thank you for signing in here, Trudessa. Gosh, is it already Tuesday? Time's awastin'! OLN is upon us...
DeleteDo you have any left that you would be willing to share? (LOL?)
ReplyDeleteYup! A whole herd--grin!
Deletethe 3rd verse is a favorite!
ReplyDeleteThanks Izzy. I like the ending--although I can't say why....
DeleteLove the slow pop descent.
ReplyDelete=)
