GOOD ADVICE

Impatient man
said to his guide,
"Coming through.
Please step aside.”

Hurriedly speeding
along path, to edge
of steep cliff's ledge,
once more he spoke,
needing to know
just what to do
if he fall into chasms
during final spasms.

"Don't fail to turn to the right!
You'll love the view!”

  2. Yes, impatience can really push you into a deep deep dive, the view can be spectacular and the impact can be permanent.

  3. I am learning to slow things down!
However if I get on a tear watch out-
Good advice and well written :)

    You nailed it, my friend!

Also I am impatient, Iz. Peeps tell me to "practice being satisfied"...or practice "trusting God" to cure impatience.
With me, KNOWING how to do something is easy. DOING it is not!

    Just remember,'friend-girl'...
    "FOR BEAUTIFUL SIGHT,
    TURN TO THE RIGHT!"

  6. smiles...i like that...when you are ready to jump make sure you take the time to enjoy the view...impatience def leads to things that are not much fun...

  7. Oh I am on my way...

But is the view on my right or your right?

    (I got tired of "61")

Re comment--LOL! You ALWAYS trying to complicate things? Whose 'right or left'. Or, like, "WHOSE" right or wrong'?

    BRIAN
Yup! How often I rush to get somewhere, and really miss what God meant me to see. Most of the time???

  9. Rush, rush...hurry, hurry. So many great insights were found while lazing away time observing life around us...watching an apple fall from a tree.

  10. Reminds me of the Fool of the tarot..dancing along the cliff's edge with eye to the sky. You couldn't have used a better image! Loved it

Just this morning I read: “to live long, live slowly”
--Cicero (Might not be exact—my memory, ya know?--grin!)

    KRISTIN
Jessie's comment was INSPIRED...we could 'stop' right there. “spectacular view, impact—permanent!)

    MAGPIE
Just wrote above, a Cicero quote, “To live long, live slowly!”

    NATASHA
...Thank you! I have BEEN that “Fool of the tarot!” You might have guessed—grin!

    HEAVEN
Man repaired our chimney (imagine—in South Florida?) this morning and asked me to climb up and help for a minute. I could NOT!

Wrote comment on your post, I think it did not publish. Maybe God thought my words were too sexy for an old man—grin!

  13. I think there may be something like "informed impatience" that is the most direct route to the goal, but undertaken with map in hand. Thus the cliff is avoided.

  14. Most people today are too impatient..When you have to wait, it may prevent an accident from happening.
When I first looked at this post and saw the man going over the cliff I immediately thought, "He's a gonner."
Yes people need to learn patience, I was taught as a child, that it is a virtue, and I believe that.

  15. Impatience can take you on a dive...and it does not solve anything :)Nice write :)

YESSS good advice!...YESTERDAY, VERY good AA Peep-friend about age 60, was speeding on motorcycle on Interstate I-75 one mile from my house. Motorcycle is totaled. George is DEAD.
Sr Rose Gertrude in Grade 1, St Dominic School, said many times, “Haste makes waste”!

Wonder if that “moment” is what Buddha meant with word Enlightenment?

    AYALA
Yep, read a couple of my responses here.
You'll see how RIGHT you are!
    Thank you.

    Patience is a Virtue
    Also is common sense.
I believe neither of these are 'learned', rather are gifts from God. Because SO many of us have neither.

    PATTIKEN
“Informed impatience”? WOW! That's a new one for me. Dontcha know? By the time I've looked at a map,
    I heard myself go S P L A T !! on the place beneath...grin!

I'm very glad we stayed friends for these years!
