Both paintings titled "VIOLINIST" by Mark Chagall

CLAUDIA, MARC CHAGALL, AND ME

While reading a few of  my blogger “favorites” I fell upon (yes!) this gem by Claudia…and comment here with words I really felt.

“Lots of fun stuff to “look at” in this piece, Claudia. The painter paints, and he awesomely colors violinists in non-gravity. (Is THAT why they called me –back in the day–”spaced-out fiddler”? NO!)”

The following is Inspired by Claudia's work

Clacking keyboard: she and me
and cherry blossom tree, amid
violins bathed in colorful splendor…
Chagall said(?) “Imagine how it must be
to live in all colors, minus gravity.” Hmmm.

Both lived in three-dimensions—or four--
waiting, suspended, not really real.
Falling in or falling out of their place;
a catch, a kiss, love forever sealed.

Nevertheless—
traveling
endlessly,
separately, we

...In space!

THE LAST LETTER

Open Link night
(OLN) week # 88

MY LAST WEEKLY LETTER FROM POP

Short Story of a MAN named Steve.
Born 1905
Cincinnati, Ohio
Sightless, age 4--1909
Farmer
Four children.
Loved children, wife,
animals, reading, life,
in that order.

Horse kicked him in head, age 18,
totally deaf by age 50.

Perpetually smiling face—
happy, happy man!

Typed weekly (lengthy) letters
to which I responded—religiously,
in braille, also weekly,
also lengthy—grin!
We lettered for many years,
some now spotted with tears

This last one from him (pictured above),
written on Sunday March 25 1978, begins:

“Happy Easter to you all
Though the weather feels like fall.

The world itself keeps Easter Day
and Easter larks are singing.
Easter flowers are blue and gay
And Easter buds are springing.

The Lord of all things lives anew
And all His works are living too.

I spaded, (on his knees)
planted onions , lettuce and peas
until I was rained out.

Our crocus are blooming fine,
noticed buds on daffodils,
tulips still growing.
The whole world is awakening with spring.

For all of us a new birth,
even for wild animals and birds.
Had a look at pear tree.
Buds on it are growing,
tree feels very much alive…”

(Excerpts from Pop's last letter, 1978.)

The following Sunday,
April Fool's Day
a massive heart attack
struck him breathless.
Forever.

REMEMBERING MARCH 18, 1974

BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA, USA
Night Scene from VULCAN, Iron Man
atop Red Mountain

Just stepped outside, looking round the 'hood, 11:20 PM Sunday.
I used to love being on a hilltop overlooking cities like
Birmingham, Alabama (beautiful!) or Cincinnati, Ohio,
after most Peeps had gone to sleep.

Twinkling lights rivaled blinking stars, and the

steady drumming of a city at rest--sounds comingling, so much the
same steady rhythm like a huge heart beating (like 60 times a minute).
Didja ever notice that? I listened carefully to sounds, reminiscent of
Gulf of Mexico wave action, reduced, as if even the great waters needed a rest.

Today March 18, I've been sober IN Alcoholics Anonymous 39 years!

WHOEVER would have thought....well, not ME!
Full of gratitude tonight--up for 7 AM meeting in morning.
What a WAY OF LIFE! Freedon from Bondage--it is!

LOVE and PEACE, Peeps--ALL!

Steve.

1st VIOLIN LESSON--SIMPLE POEM

This is posted in dVerse Poets Pub, my favorite Tuesday hangout

You have until late Wednesday to be on the scene with your creation.
Tuesday is OPEN LINK NIGHT (OLN #86)

Photo found on blog of my friend AYALA

FIRST VIOLIN LESSON

Beginning is where we'll start,
Learn to stand, learn to hold.
Proficiency, not easy in any art
So do exactly as you're told

On floor I've drawn chalk "feet"
Where you'll stand--sir, relax!
No practicing on a seat
It's a fine violin, not a sax…(Sorry, Claudia!)

Ok now, control a pencil
Grab it only like I say.
Index and pinkie on top
Under, lay your thumb
Right! Like the fulcrum.

It's how you'll hold a bow.
After which
we'll switch:
Tuning, practicing, maintenance
Of violin and bow. See? An hour
Seemed not slow.
OK. Time to go.

C O F F E E  !!!!!

My first adult student,
I've always said, "Never!"
His first violin lesson…
age 29. A Lawyer.

Quickly, I said "NO!"
He showed interest in
My Motor Scooter (so--
I changed my mind.)

If he's a biker-lawyer, he must be OK. I mean
dedicated, with willingness, and desire to enjoy the sounds he will make some day. Einstein and Sherlock found their serenity in playing violin….Why not?

50 years his senior. Maybe I'm a
grandfather figure?  God's in charge!

THE NINTH--A POEM

MOON AT DUSK NAPLES FLORIDA
(MY BACK YARD)

DID I hurt you
with my rhymes?
throbbing heart,
how many times?

Much sorrow.
words written.
sobs internal,
face down, abed with
bear named Ted
Not in same house,
maybe tomorrow!

Is it true
I hurt you?
Words--
knife-deep in heart;
risky game of life
played by my
key-caloused
finger-tips?

Oh! Those lips!

These days, rue
Stolen happiness
Deleted dreams
Evaporated hopes
Dying faith
Non-existent love
all the above in

generated wireless
format; delusion
self-centeredness
self-importance;
me, me, me
self, self, self…
WHEEE!

perchance you dance,
as elf on shelf
midst nouns
unsaid

where installed
with other books
...unread

The following written as
comment to blogger friend:

MY CLOUD OF UNKNOWING

I know, I know...you do not read these comments! OK.
That first line:  "I know, I know" written of something
which I do not really "know".

I have become an "UnKnowing" Peep.
Started out knowing whatever you wanted me to know
(and some things, you didn't--smile!).
In fact, only ONE "knowing" remains:
I know God is LOVE--by deFinition.
That is all.
That's all I know.
Please do not argue that with me,
because at my age there is not much time to waSte(veroni. HA!)

God is love. This, revealed to me as,
through an erRor, I pulled up a post you wrote August 2, 2012.
Though a mistake (Sheeesh!) I read it anyway.
Turned out I had commented 3 times on that post--(
BTW, not a record for me (smile).

Knowing but one thing (which in effect is a lot)
I admit to BELIEVING anything and everything.
But, dammmit, I do not UNDERSTAND anything--
even that LOVE of which the UniVerse is created.

Cloud of UnKnowing rains
Chaos of ConFusion reigns

Finding the way out only took
38 years of following a
"simple-but-not-easy" program,
following a way of life
(for me, saved my life!)
Alcoholics Anonymous.

As a human bEing, I be.
Sometimes that's not easy,
 to just "BE"!

Being part of God's love, as expressed
in the largely-unknown UniVerse,
I learn--express my soul in lovingness.
Loving is (again) simple, but not easy.
Accomplished by actions.

The Peeps I work with are constantly thinking of and helping others,
first, to stay sober, then to help them realize we do NOT have the answer--
we are under a Cloud of UnKnowing.
But we do have a solution.
A portion of that is dOing.
--smilingly, he says..."UNDERSTAND?"

LOVE and PEACE to all who may read this
and to all who may NOT.............

LOVE IS NOT DEAD

A Valentine poem
from one who lives in heaven
to one who is living on earth

FLORIDA
(Left side is North, top is East
bottom, Westerly,to right is Southerly)

POEM FROM BEYOND

Feeling is so strong:
sometimes, looking down,
I see right into your world of
living, working, laughing, loving.

This Valentine Day I frown
that it has been so long
I wandered off and away
from the darkest nights
on that sunlit day, to stay,
in this heavenly space.

Frowning, I look down;
this love you believed lost
 transitioned into
sweetest soul-fragrance,
purest love--essence
of everything,
all that was or ever is.

If love is not,
God is not!

Caring, sharing, though
you might not know;
keeping you safe.
our family too...
so much now I see,
between frown
and looking down

Love makes not fools,
only of those who
refuse to believe

Love never dies, never lies,
never says those "goodbyes"...

You've never been loved more
since couple years before--
 as my soul finally escaped,
hovered over the shore,
then WHOOOSH!
Seems like, WOW!
everywhere now

Do you "feel" me looking down?
Don't you sense nearness?
I dearly, clearly bless
you AND LOVE YOU
on this beautiful
VALENTINE'S DAY!

PLAY IT AGAIN, SAM

Here we are...back--
at same place we've not been.
Our connection powerful,
with fresh newness--
Ummm, known so well

For first time again
we meet,
like same,
like never before
always familiarly different
yet always familiar.

Two paths joining--
twining incessantly
yet paralleled
crossing infrequently,
crossing, linking,
intersecting,
many times

Together, apart.
Sweet, gentle strength!
Back......we.

Art work by Joseph lassoro

FIRST TIME AGAIN

Traveled these many miles
to that place we used to meet
never forgetting first time
--we didn't even say "hello".

Beautiful face, now smiles!
I know--so, direct my feet
to tables colored in lime,
to kisses--
sweet...
wet...
mellow!

WHITE NITE

MIGHTY WHITE, NITEY-NITE

Ummm! Wow! A white page!
All white!
All night!
Maybe by morning chucked-up,
full of quotes, wise sayings,
smiles, tears,
thoughts, dreams,
hopes, fears...

But page (and me) still fucked up.
Page remains white
And it is still night.

Gotta sleep now! When I am tucked up
in the bed
it shall be
as I said,
Ahhhhhh...such delight!

Whatever I never wrote
was for someone else to read
--sorta like a grounded flower
having bloomed her lovely seed

...POOF!

LIFE BEGAN
AT AGE 75

Prior to now
existed void
in me; in all
I knew...or not,
it seems.

Several lives I've lived
without living.
Mucho dinero tossed aside
without giving;
Only unloving drunken schemes.

Life began to stir...I say
"Oh God!" it took years
to boil, bake and cook away
hundreds and more fears,
extremist esteems...

Then, ahhh! The experience
breathing, feeling, living.
Risks? Well damn!
Changed name to Sam,
moved in new regimes.

Twenty-seven thousand hours
lived in this sweetest,
wonderful world: M.E. and D.D.
private, secret universe;
dreamers and dreams.

Country, family,
jobs, friends, life
traded as trivium,
for finding truest love
ever imagined of me.

By God's design
became yours
and you...mine!
Love--no words describe.
Most hoped: just to perceive.

Unknown, unforeseen
those several years
of large, of lean,
much laughter, tears
mingled into one WE!

Where from here?
Next? there? Maybe
simply pass on, knowing
this, and not much more:
there IS a God. See?

And we ain't He!

HE

(OLN) #75

HE, HIM...WHOEVER!

Arrogant, rude, selfish,
of no account..
I know him like bad dreams.
Whoever he meets
wishing himself to mount
highest in their esteem.

HE
(inspired by one other
he hated her
who created him
yes, his mother!)

HE, FULL of him,
liar,
cheat,
thief.
Without
relief
he pictures himself
Santa's main man--
elf-chief...

HE
endears HIM to
others, collecting
hostage-trophies
thinking he
so big.
And what he is
but a pig

In terms terse
He hates
whole Universe.

HE
fancies being
savior of Peeps.

Full of crass--
His raving
saving
not his soul
nor his ass.

Arrogant, selfish,
a non-account..
How is it
I know him well?
Well...well...
HE is ME!

Thanks to the program Alcoholics Anonymous,
which is teaching me to live and love
in a manner heretofore foreign to me.
And thank God Who showed this place
to ME...so HE
might teach me
to BE and LET BE!

Peeps, I just cannot keep up with my life as it has evolved--and also keep up this blog. So for about the 5th time, steveroni is bowing out. I will be on Face Book, unless I choke on that as well--

Comments will be open for some days and then closed. The blog will stay up here as Fourth Dimension, until I return--no, I'm not sick, nor in prison. I have made this blog a load I cannot carry for now. My interest is in learning html, maybe other coding as well. And Website work, and it is this study paves the road I'm traveling.

I LOVE YOU ALL, HAVE LOVED YOU ALL! My heart is sorry, because every one of you bloggers have meant so much to my growth these four-plus years. May God be good to each--wishing I could name names now, but it would read like the "begets" in the old Book!

LOVE, PEACE, and JOY...ALWAYS!

PS.
A friend suggested to TURN ON comments.
All know that I follow directions--well SOMETIMES!
Comments WILL receive a response.

Time Flies

Many years I have observed...
the world pass in front of me.
I waved, of course....slowly, as
life, lives, and time seem to flee.

Peeps looked and stared at me--
peeked right into my face.
Is ogling all they had to do?
Like I'm from another race?

True, one arm was shortened at birth
which made me somewhat lopsided
Not to mean my life saw no mirth...
!!! like when a man asked "What's the time?"

I pointed my long arm at three-ish,
my shorter arm at seven.
(Real time--grin?  quarter after eleven!)
He missed his flight. Sheeeesh!.

Lord knows I tried to make amends
but at that moment I heard one say,
"This, buddy, is where your life ends."
Tossed me into closet with old junk-friends.
I waited patiently through long day.

With short arm I scratched my face,
as long arm kept twitching, like every second.

Listening to noises all about me,
constant sounds, "clicking, clicking"...
noticed yellow-painted sign over door:
"Clocks That Never Stop Ticking"

Game of hearts?

Sixty-five years since I bought
my first motor-bike...age 14

Hooked from the first.
Also hooked by my 14-year-old sweetheart,
who stood waiting for me one evening
under a light not so bright
Already late
First date.
NO! She did not "ride" with me.
We rode the city bus 5¢.................

POEM

heart shaped
hung by string,
a way of life
for everything

bleeding, hoping,
loving, waiting.
One day,
all so clearly clear;
can see and be seen
by even you, my dear

leaning against
dimly lit lampost
--no moon this night
shadows moving
in the way they do
looking for ghost to
jump out--say "BOO!"

You glance but don't shout
as each tiny four-to-six-booted creature
bandies about those heels so tall.
wishing somehow
those heels
were wheels

RRRRRrrrrrrrr...SCREEEEECH!

"is it my...YES!
He's my biker-guy!".....

The Universe still complete
hearts persistent will beat
as all continues
and would
and should
No

Matter
What

LOVING and JOKING--a poem

Posted for
dVerse Poets Pub
Open Link Night
Week #73
(Starts Tuesday at 3 PM Eastern)

“While I'm writing, I'm far away;
and when I come back, I've gone.”
Pablo Neruda

simply a POEM

my darling!
light lit
radiant, yet dim.
blue bulb
‘veScent aglow

you waiting
by window
moon--fullest
And we,
blissly blest

"goodbye?" no.
more  apropos--
“hello!”

our shadows spoke
I listened,
finally, broke',

stepped away...
(here comes a joke!)

like old Peep
who sold seed.

“These special seeds
Grow at such speeds,”
Say Shadow-Peep to me.

“Throw them on the ground
And JUMP BACK OUT OF THE WAY!”

OK? fair warning.

Back to story of mine
(and yours—sublime?)
One hour, one day
at a time
I shall write
And tonight,
saddest poem of all:

 “I loved you
and sometimes...
you loved me too.

I LOVE these two
Neruda quotes,
especially the one at top!
(And also the one at bottom--grin!)
