Beautiful flowers, petals gold
GAWD! How did I get so old.
Came out here to mow the grass,
but first had to plant my ass
in the wet stuff
LYING IN MY BRO'S BED
Yesss...before work,
REST!
REST!
as in
"Begin
with dessert,
with dessert,
salad last on menu;
(use a fork, el stupido
in such polite venue..."
Awwright, no more bluff--
got to go
and mow.
TALKING TO MY BRO-MELIAD
But wait! May I not have
one last sniff of snuff?
(singing) "Hi Ho-Hi Ho" Etc.
Taking off shirt
No more shirk
from work--
and wet stuff

ReplyDeleteBrian, I have walked in your back yard--barefoot--it more resembles a well-landscaped field, or State park...
Deletein your basement
in your high school
in your LIFE!
PEACE.
I like to start with dessert...love feet in the grass too :)
ReplyDeleteIt is good to begin with dessert, so long as I do not stop with that!
DeleteAlaya, I believe feet and grass were made for each other--grin!
i love how you work. and play. and think. and do. and SMILE!!!!!
ReplyDeleteShadow, you are making my "feel good" feel better!
DeleteSo sweet. Thank you.
A good time to work ;-)
ReplyDeleteSo light hearted and joyful, love it!
ReplyDeleteAt first I read "So light headed and joyful..." HAHAHAHA!
DeleteThank you, John!
I still have roses blooming! although we got a blast of 20 's last night-
ReplyDeleteI mowed more leaves than grass the other day! you get to play :>)
IZZY! Love your nose--grin! REALLY.
Delete"Reason for my nose,
so I may smell the rose!"
:>)
PEACE!!!!
Steve, leave it to you to create a joyful, funny poem about that most mundane of tasks, gardening. Funny, I have a good friend, Marques Bovre (he says, "Rhymes with ovary!") who made a lovely song about considering mowing his lawn until he thought about the tenacious dandelion... really cute. I'll see if I can find it on YouTube and shoot you the link. Peace, Amy

Thanks Sharpie pencil, for a lovely email...and comment here! Tried to find Marquess Bovre on the "Tube" will look more thought tomorrow.
DeletePEACE!
Steve E.
Why mow it, let it grow! if you cut it, it will grow again so why waste your time.
ReplyDeleteAgree with you! (But I need the exercise--grin!)
DeleteMy philosphy - put off till tomorrow what you should do today, instead, go out and lay. Just ktidding. I love those yellow alamanda vines. Had one at my first house in Tampa, Florida back in 1975.
ReplyDeleteTo your philosophy I also subscribe, Nurse. Got my 2011 IRS (1040) in 10 minutes before P.O. closed on the final day of extension, October 15. But it was the FIRST really stressful day for me since, well, I cannot remember.
DeleteWhat's this about Peeps "half your age"? I read on another blogger's post?--grin!
Welcome back home--soon. And you cannot wait to return to India! How wonderful to love a place--and the peeps--so much! od is good to you, girl!
PEACE.
funny! :D
ReplyDeleteI was looking at this thinking... what an amazing place we live in where I have friends who are posting photos of snow, beautiful fall colors, and pretty flowers blooming in the warmth of the sunshine, only a few hours apart across country.
Be well my friend! :)
Yup, Jess...as I've heard YOU say (and write), God IS amazing!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the cool comment!
PEACE!
That is Esperanza or yellow bells, native to Texas. The bromeliad is the pineapple-looking one? You are a pomelo!
ReplyDeleteCes, one time a fellow shouted at me (drunk!) "YOU'RE PARANOID!"
DeleteI shouted back, "NO I'M NOT!"
HAHA! I did not know what "paranoid" meant (age 41)....NOW I have to look up "pommelo"
Waiting

So I always KNEW I didn't belong in Florida. As a Pommelo, I need to get back to my home, Malaysia. Want you to know though, old as I am (ancestor to grapefruit), as Bella wrote below...I'm the SWEET one! HAHAHA!
Of course, you know better.
Tsup!
Pomelo! Hehehehehe. I've never had a pomelo. But they look like they have thick skins with a lot of sweetness on the inside. Are you a pomelo, Maestro?
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wonderful place to take a rest. I would join you if I could. We could discuss the virtues of eating dessert first. I think there's scientific evidence to argue that it's better for you. Yummmm. :) Beautiful flowers. But I think you are the best thing in that photo.
And by the way, I like the smell of fresh-cut grass. My husband loved it. It used to be sold as a fragrance at the Gap.
TSUP!
B E L L A !!!
DeleteCertainly I love scientific evidence--grin! Actually, I know nothng, but believe in every-(any)-thing.
And on"discussing eating dessert first", I believe in that, as well.
--Maest-a-roni (LOVE it!)

ReplyDeleteAnne Frank...you sure know how to make a man SMILE! And laugh:
