A song loved since my earliest memory...
Beautiful Dreamer
I DREAM. THEREFORE I AM!
Beautiful dreamer,
Wake unto me
Starlight and dewdrops
Are awaiting thee
Sounds of the rude world
Heard in the day
Led by the moonlight
Have all passed away
Beautiful dreamer,
Queen of my song
List' while I woo thee
With soft melody
Gone are the cares of
Life's busy throng
Words and Music By: Stephen C. Foster
Thoughts, when
they are at peace
Need not words
nor speech.
Our eyes will tell
heaven and earth
of love and worth
...our tale
This dream, mine own
is of two
such loves who
become as ONE.
in UNION!
Wake unto me
Starlight and dewdrops
Are awaiting thee
Sounds of the rude world
Heard in the day
Led by the moonlight
Have all passed away
Beautiful dreamer,
Queen of my song
List' while I woo thee
With soft melody
Gone are the cares of
Life's busy throng

ReplyDeleteSometimes dreams are the next world's realities, friend!
DeleteYup reminds me of a song- are you violinning again ???!!!
ReplyDeleteViolining? Yup! Only on limited schedule--limited by the number of times my phone rings--grin!
DeleteThis was a song I played as a small child on a toy-sized organ. I always enjoyed it too. Your dream is worth dreaming, my friend.
ReplyDeleteYou SO nice! Thank you!
DeleteDreaming much
Working too much
Living it up
Loving one, every, and all!
PEACE!
Nice inspiration ~ i like the dreams of peace and love ~ Hope all is well ~
ReplyDeleteAn old 40's song: "My Dreams Are Gettin' Better All The Time". I think the movie...STATE FAIR. As you know Grace, dreams CAN and DO become reality!
DeleteI believe you ~
DeleteI always love coming here Steve--you are the perfect antidote to every blah and barren doubt, with your firm grasp of what is really important in life. I remember that song from my childhood also.
ReplyDeleteGosh, THANK you! I really believe that our lists of priorities is altered with each passing year, month, day. Especially at my age--grin!
DeleteCan you believe people, even in the Bible, use "dreamer" as an expression of insult???
ReplyDeletePeople who have lost their dreams are in fact deprived of the main reason and force for living.
Dream on man, and live your dreams.
OH THANK you, Felisol!
DeleteI have found--for me--that sometimes my dreams wait for me to catch up! But NEVER are they lost or forgotten!
PEACE!
you are so romantic steve but what i like most is that i know that your romantic statements are deeply grounded in reality and that makes them so powerful
ReplyDelete"GUILTY, yer honor"

What a teriffic shape of heart.
Hope your post will inspire me further after going through "different phases of existence".
You know I really liked those lines also, and they fell out of nowhere--well....--grin!
DeleteSigh...
ReplyDeleteFailed to reproduce shape of heart.
Heart looks good from here, Rainf.
DeleteLove is the best dream :) nice write, Steve. :)
ReplyDeleteHi, Ayala!
Delete"Love is the best dream"?? But, Ayala...but, but....but, hopefully, that love is not only a dream.
Well, it may begin as a dream. Through time, change and growth it can become reality.
Love and PEACE!
I agree with Ayala, and I'll add To dream is to love and to love is to dream. Thanks again, Steve for your support and comments on my blog. You always seem to make me smile or laugh! Much love!
ReplyDeleteEllie, your comment urged me to respond to Ayala--IOW, ya got me to thinking! NOTE: when I thinking, it is just me and the 'enemy' together alone...me and my brain, that is!
DeleteThanks for dropping by.
That's lovely!
ReplyDeleteThanks, MZ!
DeleteA beautiful dream to be sure! :) And I know that dream in Gods light is a reality! :)
ReplyDeleteEverything comes into God's light--one way or the other, what we humans call "good" or "bad". God's light makes them all sweet chocolate, (if that is His Will--grin!!!)
DeletePeace, Jess!
i dream
ReplyDeletei love
"will tell heaven and earth/of love and worth." I loved that phrase. The dreams we remember often enable us to share with others our expanded view, that boundless arena of the unconscious that gives way to our small place in the unfathomable Creation.
ReplyDeleteThe final stanza, not only its form, but its meaning (and that is "its" by the way, wink) was luscious and dripping with meaning for me. Peace, Steve, and thanks, Amy
IT'S Peeps like YOU, Amy, who show me/us that IT'S never perfect, always some flaw, some incorrectness. Re this writing, I fixed the problem in ITS last lines.
DeleteYou ARE a "Sharp Little Pencil", Babe. Thank you, thank you ;-)
I looked for you in my sidebar, and no such Peep exists as Amy...
so THIS is how one makes it back into the lineup--grin! And you ARE!
PEACE, Peep!
Sweet dreams...
ReplyDeleteThanks Laurie (they are sweet!).
DeletePEACE!
And i KEEP dreaming too...
ReplyDeleteI've written some comments here but have not shown up... you are moderating them?
NOT moderating.
DeleteDon't understand.
But there is much I don't understand--grin!
Found your comments and published them (and others!)
Dreams. I have them also, several types. In summation of my own dreams, I become aware that God has a plan of which I can be a part or not.
The unknowing is still unknown.
Tuesday morning I leave on that scooter, to travel. Sure, an itinerary is sort of formed...however, it is loosely bound.
Takecare, Dulce, and dream on....

There is no harm in dreaming and being a dreamer. But one should be awake too.
ReplyDeleteTHIS I like, Izdiher! Dream, but stay awake.
DeleteHere come two favorite words "Be Aware"...
I've been to your blog--such wisdom!
Thank you for being a follower here.
And PEACE, my Pak-Friend!
