INSIGNIFICANCE?

INSIGNIFICANT

Alone, walking beach,
insignificant.

Multiple thoughts of
mostly unseen--
clairvoyant

Of you, me
and all we be,
illuminant.

Loving to watch the shining sea
reach from its boundary,
reflecting shadowed light.
Each tidal 'offense'
called back home
through all day, all night.

Swish...swish...wash...wish...
oceans so free
sustain
independently
specific quality
home...for...the...fish

NOTE:
Our galaxy so small.
Childlike, we all
insignificantly refuse
to face the fact--
no matter how we abuse
gifts of space, earth and sea...
who age, wither, become dust,
is not our universe—but us!

  2. Insignificant? No! Huge! Colossal!

...on the beach ... the ocean ... there the feeling of infinity...

We are ... a grain of sand ... and yet so important ...
We can preserve and enjoy ...
and we can destroy everything ...

  5. Wow, Steve...that pix of the sky and ocean is thrilling....really fits the insignificence of us, neh?

But even though we are just grains of sand, we have the responsibility to not continue to abrate the Earth, but to save whatever we can through our mindful actions.

There is something so satisfying to know that the universe is yes, indeed....beyond our poisoning touch.

Good poem, Steve....you have vision and honesty in your words.

  6. We need to realize just how finite a space this beautiful earth is and that we all need to co-exist here peacefully.

    and so we are,

    our deed.

  9. I love the ending words on the comment of Lady Nyo - your words have vision and honesty.

So true. She couldn't have said it better.

The picture is beautiful - compared to the sky and sea and the whole universe, man does seem insignificant.

    But, no we are not.

Psalm 8 says God has created us to be only a little lower than the angels... he has crowned us with glory and honor... and has given us dominion and authority.

    Wow... definitely not insignificant, Steve!

I was awakened at midnight with a blog post brewing on my heart... but thought I would drop by your blog place before signing off.

Blessings on your new day, as I return to continue the rest of my sleep.
