his is NOT Florida--it just FEELS like this today
Cold Outside--Wear Socks!
What happens when I leave late
for an appointment, job,
concert, meeting, class, date?
Wellll......
I just step on the gas.
Beautiful is Christmas light,
blinking red, blue, white.
WAIT!
Do I see all that prettiness
in my side mirrors?
atop fast-moving car?

Almost gave stupid reason
to polite deputy-lady;
BUT...
caught myself just in time
with this rather tepid line:
Ma'am, record low temps, so COLD,
and me, I'm so OLD
I was going way, way too
FAST
So as not to exhale my last
wind-chilled breath
In newly frozen tundra of South Florida
Mountains, aka Everglades
WHAT?
Honey, you think it's funny?
Is what you're saying to me,
LIKE
"Sir, get on your bike--
Is what you're saying to me,
LIKE
"Sir, get on your bike--
go, and sin no more?"
Thank you officer, and
Deputy-Ma'am.........

ReplyDeleteCaught cold speeding.. hmm not good but you seem to be able to negotiate your way through.. You can send some Florida temperature here.. it seems to be colder there then what we have in Sweden...

I'm bundled up..I could use some Sunny Florida days..
It seems you had the need for some speed to get your on your day..

ReplyDeleteTemperature is a hot topic right now.
ReplyDeleteIt goes extreme at either side of the globe.
Temperature--as a topic--always DID run "hot-and-cold"--grinning!!!!
DeleteBig smiles with this one, Steve. Gotta use that aging thing to advantage, heh?
ReplyDeleteYup Police-girl asked why I had an invalid-walker with wheels strapped and hanging over scooter's passenger seat (mine?--grin!) Nope, I said--it's for my grandfather. (I'm age 80...HAHAHAH!)
ReplyDeleteCold is all relative… as is warmth today it hit 50 here which is absurdly warm for January in NH!
ReplyDeleteGood that you only got a warning. Don't be too speedy on that bike because the law may have its eyes on you.
