"From my sketchbook/two women at the neighbor table"
When chest feels empty
due to hurting heart,
public library becomes solace…
turning to prayer
holding book to me tightly,
turn page and read:
Amazing! that E V E R Y T H I N G
affects everything else,
is dependent or depends on...
and I alone–as hermit,
missed the whole meaning of
Ocean Universe
in which all things are….
One

ReplyDelete--Stacie....sMILE 191
I just re-read a big chunk of your story, Stacie...it never NEVER becomes tiring. Were I your publisher, I'd not change ONE WORD! (And the world SHOULD have opportunity to read or hear it.)
DeleteI love to go to the library... in fact my whole family does. Peace, Steve.
ReplyDeletesmiles... you know...it's true... everything is dependent or depends on... there's just nothing like neutral territory...ok...except switzerland of course...smiles... and a good library... i could spend hours and hours and hours in one...
ReplyDeleteSwitzerland neutral, of course...forgot! And maybe the moon? Would be nice if we take our warring to a moonscape, and let machines fight it out. (Been watching too many movies!)
Deletein the library is truth, If only we could recognize it....
ReplyDeleteSometimes I think if only I SEEK the truth, it will find me.
DeleteHmmmm! Have to think some more on that.....--grin!
Books can be a great solace as is company when you are hurting ~ Lovely artwork by Claudia ~
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend Steve ~
everything does affect everything else...its all connected...
ReplyDeletei do enjoy a book too....i used to go to the library more when i worked the evenings
but i have a stack of books by the bed that will keep me busy for a bit you know...
smiles.
so much is indeed connected, no matter how hard we try to make it otherwise...
ReplyDeleteThe library was were I spent a lonely youth.. It's such a good place to survive a loneliness.. To realize you're outside oneness is so dark yet important.
ReplyDeleteAh yes, I sought solace in the library, and now in writing and reading.
ReplyDeleteFunny! We seek solace...end up finding peace and joy!
DeleteYes, I love libraries too - although this morning I had a trip to the library with the children and they were sitting grumpily at a table instead of happily browsing through bookshelves like they normally do. And I wondered at what point does a library become a punishment rather than a reward? Maybe I should stop trying to recommend books to them... Or forbid them to ever enter a library...
ReplyDeleteMaybe had nothing to do with library?
DeleteYou read the books.
ReplyDeleteI am inspired by you.
i read a post on fb today.... pretty much conveying the same thing that you are saying in your poem.... probably God wants me to know this today!!!! ahh!!message received :)
ReplyDeletep.s. love claudia's sketch :)
Almas, Peace!
DeleteAlmas...you read this on fb b/c that's where I POSTED it--also on blog
DeleteUnderstand, India Doc?
PEACE and LIGHT!
Indeed, I too find solace in books, the smell of paper, the texture of the words underneath my fingertips, the inspiration of the sounds as I mouth the words...
ReplyDeleteIf you have a blog presence, please let us (and me) know how to access...OK, Sir? You obviously have good taste or would not have come here to 4th Dimension..HAHAHAHA!
DeletePeace and Light!
