Today @ 3 PM Eastern doors open for OLN week #114

my friend, do you really know
where you go, or why?
is to mountain, sea
or big-city spree?
from foggy morning's
damp are you running...or
walking toward something new?
sophisticated lady, you
still smoke and blow
rings at ceilings
in subtle, yet carefree manner?
"do not wait, waiter--but now!
set by me here
caramel-colored beer!"
(white foam topping?)
morning walk, "cool" style?
or running for life, in fear...
are you yet not realizing,
many friends all are near?
know that everything
ends same way.
as in "all okay"
so 'til that day,
hear what the monk
had to say:
"all life, same.
divided in two,
frozen stream--
burning flame.
that hottest fire
...is love."
that is all what is
in the end! nothing ever more
shall inhabit space beyond that door
except undying, unending love.
truth
unlimited
infinite
Light a candle to show her the way home ... it's all good ... beautiful poem, Steve.
ReplyDeleteYes, agree, ^.^ at times, we each need light to find our way. Often it comes from what one says to another. Thank you, Cat.
DeleteAnd, of course:
PEACE and LIGHT!!!!
all that is in the end is love....that is true indeed and well worth any weight in god as well...as it is the ultimate treasure....
ReplyDeleteSo very true, Steve -- the hottest fire IS love. May it burn bright AND strong until the end! Enjoyed that last stanza -- 'truth, unlimited, infinite,' And when you come right down to it, some of the most important things in life ARE love & truth!
ReplyDeleteyes - it is love-- sometimes it takes us quite some walks to find it finally..
ReplyDeletethat is all that is in the end - and all that really matters! lovely!
ReplyDeleteYUVIKA! You DO know!
DeleteThank you.
We always think others our lost who don't go our way. Sometimes they were only meant to be on the same path before the one they follow must diverge. Good read. >KB
DeleteI enjoyed all the questions in this - she's walking, but is it away from something or towards a new opportunity? Only time will tell ...
ReplyDeleteI love this - ending the same way & hottest fire is love ~ Good one Steve ~
ReplyDeleteAmen... love indeed!
ReplyDeleteundying,
ReplyDeleteunending
truth
unlimited
infinite...
Amazing beautiful... you captured and captivated the lady- right
Thank you so much my dear sweet friend.
Dulce, you are so kind with your words.
DeleteAdmittedly, I'm glad you like your
birthday poem.
PEACE and LIGHT!
I like how you sinuously thread the poem with hints, then reveal what we should have known all along - it's about love ~ M
ReplyDeleteThank you for dropping by, Sir.
DeleteDon't think we've met here.
ut every day, friends who I never knew...appear.
the hottest fire is love...so true..may the flame always burn..
ReplyDeletePeace & Light always..
Truedessa...before, during, and after, does not the flame continue to burn?
DeleteBeautiful, Steve. It's all about love, isn't it? Love is everything.
ReplyDeletePeace and light my dear!
It really does all come down to love. A beautiful expression of it here.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful poem that you wrote for your friend.
ReplyDeleteSomeone is treasured and loved!
It's wonderful!
Yup. Thanks Margie...it sure is nice having you checking in now--like the old days--well 3 or 4 years ago?
Delete:-)
The photo is stunning. She looks like she's trapped in a snow globe. The words are red! Love, yes.
ReplyDeleteAT the end, all is love. Steve E, it's so true. Keep your lamp trimmed and burning, and she'll find her way. THat's what real friends are for, right? Amy
ReplyDeletePowerful piece and so very true.
ReplyDeleteThe ultimate truth expressed so lovely as love...
ReplyDeleteI like the weaving of thoughts, 'do you know why' 'is it fear', 'friends are near' to the conclusion..'love is all there is in the end'. Nice work
ReplyDeleteThe beacon of love can lead her.. like a ship lost at sea...
ReplyDeleteLight a candle in the darkness, Steve. It will always lead to love.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mark, could not find your blog...but I'm not a "Circle" guy, mainly because I don't understand it. (Never was a "joiner"--too old to change!
DeleteLove,
ReplyDeletethat gives hope,
beauty
and happiness.
But never tell
you are my love,
just because of that.
