Remember to Forget!

"Why do you keep talking about my past mistakes"?
said the husband.
"I thought you had forgiven and forgotten."

"I have, indeed, forgiven and forgotten," said the wife.
"But I want to make sure you don't
FORGET that I have forgiven and forgotten."

(Lagniappe)--

SINNER: "Remember not my sins, God!"

GOD: "WHAT sins? You'll have to prod my memory.
I forgot them long ago."

  4. I believe sin is a human invention. Something God does not know. God knows only Love.

  6. We never forget. Neither do our wives.

  7. Acts of God, those moments where he removes the memory and the hurt.

Sometimes, when our world is rocked
it takes time to move on.

God gives the power, I give the prayers and service.

  8. Let sleeping dogs lie.
When the bad memory button is trigged, Pandora's box is unwillingly opened.

  9. Two such very opposing viewpoints. I see the humor and sadness in the first...such is humanity. Love the grace in the second.

  10. HEAVEN:
If YOU do it...it must be heaven-sent? Yep, that God--seems like He's just EVERYWHERE!

    BRIAN:
Chuckle just for you, Main "Poet-Man" (Story-Man, Etc., Etc., Etc.)

    IZZY:
Water-Tester? Just like learning to swim again--throw 'em in and see if they surface--grin!

    CATFISH TALES:
    Yes, it is always a process...and SO human. Right? And sometimes S L O W...so...S L O W!

    ANDREW:
How interesting a concept! (Since GOD IS LOVE...how COULD God know anythng else?) Thanks for that thought to ponder.

ALSO...Andrew, I have NO IDEA how that word verification got on my blog. I have hated that for almost three years now. Thanks for the tip, since I had no idea it was turned on!

  11. MONKEY MAN:
Being 'much older'--grin! I forget...but SHE does not! (But she DOES forgive, Thank God!)

    JESS MISTRESS OF MISCHIEF:
I agree, it HAS to be a 'God' thing, even though God does not--CAN not--Himself feel the hurt. Or CAN He? After all, we are 'in His Image Created...'
Prayers your way, dear Friend, and PEACE!

    FELISOL:
You have ALWAYS the good advice. I have tried this myself in times past. And it WORKS. (Let dogs sleep, and lid permanently resides on box of Pandora--grin!

  12. Ah yes, remember to forget! As for remembering to forget the mistakes of the people we love and the people with whom we live, sometimes being a hermit is desirable. I find that people are easy to forgive and forget, as for forgiving ourselves, that is another matter. I am always my biggest obstacle. I am sure my opinion will change after today.

  13. Ah Yes, I remember--a 'scrupulous' conscience.

Ces Adorio, my opinion may change daily...but do *I* change. THAT is MY obstacle!

    Squiggle on, Artist-Girl!

  15. ... to these lines I think of Psalm 51st ..
I received forgiveness - and I forget what is behind me ...
then even I can forgive and forget

    then I can start something new ... ... with God's help ...
    ... every day ...

  17. We wouldn't be proper wives if we didn't always remind our husbands of their little 'mistakes'!

  18. IZDIHER:
Nothing worthwhile is easy. Believe me.

However, consider this: "We will not regret the past, nor wish to shut the door on it. .... We are after all the product of all our pasts."
    PEACE!

    COSIMA:
And I know that what you say, works--I have proof.

    IZDIHER: (Again--grin!)
But know that when we humans DO forgive AND forget--our lives then become less stressful, more peaceful. And you KNOW that, too!

    LENA:
...and of course, EVERY Peep wishes for a "Proper Wife"--grin! Else how might we know of our 'little' mistakes--or big ones? LOL
    Thank you for this comment.
    PEACE!

  21. LOvely quotes, and lovely picture, Steve.

There are things we need to let go of, things that take up space in our heart, so that God can fill us with new things, and help us to move on!

This is a good post, I am glad I stopped by today!

    Blessings,
    Lidj
